According to Al-Monitor, President Biden in remarks about the truce between Israel and Hamas said the following:

“The United States … remains committed to working with the United Nations and other international stakeholders to provide rapid humanitarian assistance, and to marshal international support for the people of Gaza and the Gaza reconstruction efforts,” Biden said at the White House after a cease-fire was announced by the two sides.

“We will do this in full partnership with the Palestinian Authority, not Hamas … in a manner that does not permit Hamas to simply restock its military arsenal,” the president said.

I’m surprised at this. We’ve heard over the years that Hamas keeps and makes its rockets in some pretty surprising places, such as in schools, and in mosques, and in the middle of neighborhoods. Starting at about the 7-minute mark below, Netanyahu discusses the number of misfired rockets that landed inside Gaza that included surveillance video of some landing into a neighborhood.

So, Hamas starts a war with Israel. They bomb their own people. And we say – Sure. We’ll rebuild your place.

Has Biden been sipping the cooking sherry?

I don’t have an issue with helping recovery efforts in Gaza AFTER Hamas disarms. Gazans are victimized by nearly everyone, even their own government, and we need to start somewhere to put a stop to it.
