[The article about poll is located here. There’s a graph of some respondents’ opinions of Trump below, also taken from the same CNN article (source cited on image).]

Facts are stubborn things. If Donald Trump is honest about the related facts and whether he did anything wrong, I wonder why he and his lawyers seek to delay trial of his more than 90 criminal counts that are related to the 2020 election and his classified document handling practices.

But then again, the world seems to be turned upside down in nearly every other way these days. So, why not? Call good bad and bad good.

Just imagine what today might be like if Trump had simply conceded his 2020 election loss as he should have once his avenues for litigation had been exhausted, and had he returned the documents in his possession when asked to do so. He’d be able to run again without this crap hanging over his head and having to make up stories about how he had the authority to do what he did, when he simply did not. Instead, due to bad faith behavior sprinkled liberally with dishonesty, he is where he is. And he wants all his supporters to say, “Oh poor Donald. Made a victim for our benefit and we love him for it. “

Really?

Someone needs to convince me that there is some benefit that relates directly to me, or even generally, to the things he did (or did not do) as I’m missing the point. Instead, I’m going directly to thoughts about the possibilities of what happens to a nation when Constitutional order is completely stripped away and the Insurrection Act is used, if only in name, to deal with dissent. It’s about tradeoffs, guys, and I’m not into purposely taking too much for granted.

Donald is a dude who puts his pants on the same way everyone else does. There’s nothing special about him. There’s no job he can do that can’t be done better, except perhaps whining about self-made predicaments and the consequences of poor choices.
